2011 is the 200 years jubilee of the birth of the famous Hungarian composer Ferenc Liszt. On that occasion the International Opera Festival Miskolc presented the one and only opera of the composer, the “Don Sanche”, in which I sang Zélises role. Both the project and the direction was very exciting, one example for that are the recomposed recitativos by Gerhard Krammer, which were presented in speech by the soloists along the musical accompaniment. This, and the extraordinary, sometimes ballet-like movements on-stage in my role were a new experience for me. Fortunately the critics are good so far (in their way, of course :)), some of them are available in Hungarian here and here.

The cast was completely international, the soloists came from Germany, Korea, Portugal, apart from Hungary. The opera was directed by Julia Glass (under supervision of Katharina Wagner), and the conductor was Nicolaus Richter (both form Germany). The piece will be on scene next time in Bayreuth, Germany, the homeland of Wagner. I am really looking forward to be there?
